Nepal for all Seasons :
Within the small land mass occupied by Nepal, the visitors can relish the typical wonder that every season has to offer. Most of the cultural tours in Nepal are situated in the Kathmandu valley which has moderate temperature throughout the year. For the trekking, every season comes with its own unique conditions.

Spring: With the winter just finished, the temperature is mild and the sky is usually clear with great view of the snow filled mountains. With flowers blooming everywhere and the aroma feeling the air, this season is a nature lover’s dream.

Summer: Summer in Nepal brings the monsoon rain. Life giving rains brings greenery with water falls and cascade sprouting everywhere. It is also the best time to visit the rain shadow areas like Mustang, Dolpo, Tibet.

Autumn: With the monsoon just over and greenery everywhere, this is the festive season in Nepal. With mild temperature and clear blue sky, it can be considered the best season to trek in the mountains.

Winter: In the winter, trekking is only enjoyable in the low altitude areas up to 3500 meters where there is only occasional snow fall. Warm sun in the day time makes sure that it isn't too cold. With temperature slowly plummeting, night time can often be really cold.

Getting into Nepal  :
By Surface
Overland entry to Nepal is possible from both the sides - India and Tibet .
Depending on the road conditions it takes some 7 hours to arrive to Kathmandu by bus from the Tibetan border point, Kodari.
From India, there are several different border crossings. Coming by train from Delhi or Varanasi, the most convenient border crossing is Sunauli / Belahiya. From a nearby town of Bhairawa, a direct bus is available to Kathmandu. Even there are many flights daily from Bhairahawa to Kathmandu. From Calcutta, the usual route is via Patna, crossing the border at Raxaul / Birganj and from Darjeeling, the nearest crossing is Karkabhitta. In the west Nepal also there are several border crossings.

By Air
There are a number of International Airlines with direct flights to Kathmandu.
  • Thai Airways International flies daily between Bangkok and Kathmandu.
  • Qatar Airways flies daily between Doha and Kathmandu with connecting
    flights to/from Europe and America.
  • Gulf Air flies daily between UAE and Kathmandu with connecting flights
    to/from Europe and America.
  • Air China flies between Lhasa and Kathmandu, with connecting flights to/from mainland China.                              
  • Indian Airlines has frequent flights between Delhi, Calcutta, Varanasi
    and Kathmandu.
  • Royal Nepal Airlines flies to different locations in Asia.
  • Austrian airlines has flights from Vienna to Kathmandu.
