With an average
altitude in excess of 3500m, Tibet
can truly be described as the roof
of the world. Lying to the north of
the great Himalayan range which
separates it from its neighbors
India, Nepal and Bhutan, much of the
country is high-altitude desert.
With its spectacular mountain
scenery and rich Buddhist culture,
Tibet is a remarkable place to
visit.
On this trip, we will follow the
Friendship Highway through some of
the most amazing landscape on Earth.
We'll pass small Tibetan
settlements, nomadic herdsmen
wandering across the wide arid
plains and awe-inspiring mountain
peaks. Equally as fascinating is the
wealth of cultural interest and we
will have plenty of opportunity to
explore this side of Tibet, both in
Lhasa and the other towns we pass
through on our journey to Kathmandu. |

Day 01 :
Arrival in Kathmandu.
Transfer to Hotel. Time permitting
half day sightseeing tour of some
Kathmandu Durbar Square and
Swoyambhunath. |

Full day sightseeing of
Pashupatinath, Boudhanath & Patan.
Overnight
in hotel. |

Day 03 :
Early morning
flight from Kathmandu (1300 m) to Lhasa (3650 m).
Arrival in Gongor Airport and transfer to
the hotel in Lhasa after 2 hrs. drive. Rest of
the day free for acclimatization. |

Day 04
: Full day
sightseeing in Lhasa of Sera Monastery, Jokhang Temple
and Barkhor Market. |

Day 05 :
Full day
sightseeing in Lhasa of
Potala Palace,
Drepung Monastery and
Norbilingkha Palace.

Day 06 :
Drive from
Lhasa to Gyantse
along
the shores of Lake Yamdrok Tso
crossing 2
high passes Kamba La and
Kora La. Overnight at hotel. |

Day 07 :
In the morning sightseeing in Gyantse
of Pelkor Choede and Kumbum
stupa. In the afternoon we make the
short
drive along the valley to Shigatse
and have the sightseeing of Tashilhunpo
monastery- the seat of
the Panchen Lama. Overnight at hotel. |

Day 08 :
Drive from Shigatse to Tingri. Overnight at hotel. |
|
Day 09 :
Drive from
Tingri to Zhangmu. Overnight at the hotel. |

Day 10 :
After crossing the border drive about
4 hours to Dhulikhel. Overnight at
the resort. |

Day 11 :
Drive back to
Kathmandu and en route visit
Bhaktapur.
Overnight at the hotel. |

Day 12 :
Free day for
individual activities with possibility of
optional sightseeing and Mt. Flight. Evening
Nepali dinner with cultural program.
